Death By Asteroid

I’ve been reading stories lately about the UN getting all up in arms about asteroids falling from the sky and killing us all.  As far as I can tell, that’s great.  They have decided that being relevant through global warming isn’t going to work so they are changing threats.

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to prevent an asteroid strike, at least anything that affects my wallet. There are no asteroid credits to be purchased or asteroid independent cars to buy.  There’s really nothing for the government to regulate.  This is a global crisis that I am willing to get on board with.

On the one hand, nothing about my life will change.  On the other hand, the governments of the world will build sophisticated space lasers…which are definitely a plus for my life…somehow…
